QC halfway through vaccination target
The local government of Quezon City is nearly halfway in providing full vaccination against Covid-19 to its 1.7 million target population, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.
As of 8 a.m. on Tuesday, the city has administered 2,424,353 vaccine doses based on the QCProtektodo Vaccination Tracker.
Of the total, 750,052 or 46.70 percent of the eligible population have completed the required doses while 1,674,301 or 98.49 percent have the first dose.
Including 93,730 doses of the single-shot Johnson&Johnson jab, the city has reached 49.63 percent full vaccination.
“The city government attributes the success of its QC Protektodo vaccination program to its health care workers, staff, and volunteers,” QC Vax to Normal co-chair Joseph Juico told the Philippine News Agency in an interview on Tuesday.
Before opening up its vaccination program to non-QC residents, Juico said they want to reach their target first.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chair Benhur Abalos previously asked local government units to work together in inoculating even non-residents once they have completed the program for their constituents.
Mandaluyong, San Juan, and Pateros have hit more than 100 percent of their first-dose goal and can now accommodate unvaccinated individuals from other cities.
