Belmonte heads task force on 5 major infra projects
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte will head a task force that will coordinate five major infrastructure projects in the city including the Metro Manila Subway Project.
To minimize any kinks, Belmonte will personally head Task Force Build 5 where all stakeholders and the Quezon City communications team will also be part of the team.
The task force, Belmonte said will ensure the smooth planning and implementation of the projects.
Bombarded by unfavorable and pressing issues, Belmonte assured that the task force will ease or lessen any form of public inconvenience during the construction period of city-based projects.
Belmonte recently met with representatives from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) regarding the Metro Manila Subway Project.
If completed, Belmonte said the subway system, which will run from North Avenue to Calamba, Laguna, will help alleviate the everyday burden of commuters.
The project will have 15 stations where seven will be built in Quezon City.
Aside from the subway system, Belmonte said four other major infrastructure projects are also in the pipeline, including MRT 7, new Skyway, the segment 8.2 from North Luzon Expressway to C-6 and the relocation site for 18,000 informal settler families.
Belmonte sought the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure a smooth and speedy completion of the projects.
During the construction period, Belmonte appealed to the public to extend their patience and understanding in bearing with the temporary inconvenience during the construction period.
She added the momentary inconvenience would be a small sacrifice compared to the long term benefits of the completed projects that will benefit the public.
