Over 2 million Quezon City residents receive vaccines

The Quezon City government on Thursday said it has breached the two million mark of its adult population who have received at least one dose of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccine, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.

Mayor Joy Belmonte thanked all the city’s medical front-liners, administrators, staff, and volunteer workers for helping the city government in its fight against Covid-19.

The latest data issued by the city government as of Wednesday showed that the city now has a total of 1,854,671 fully vaccinated adults which is equivalent to 109.1 percent out of the city’s 1.7 million target adult population.

Meanwhile, for its pediatric vaccination, it reported that a total of 179,426 minors aged 12 to 17, with or without comorbidities, have been partially vaccinated or have received the first dose of the Covid-19 jabs.

This accounts for a total of 74.76 percent out of its target of 240,000 minors to be vaccinated in the city.

The number of fully vaccinated minors in the city is now at 54,172 or 22.57 percent.

Some 24,351 Covid-19 booster shots have so far been administered by the city government as of Wednesday.

A total of 4,029,108 vaccine doses have so far been administered in the city.
