Quezon City allocates 2,000 AstraZeneca vaccines for elderly residents
The Quezon City government announced on Wednesday that they now only have 2,000 AstraZeneca coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccines which they are reserving for their senior citizens, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.
“Bagamat ito ay limitado pa sa ngayon, ating inilaan ito sa mga senior citizen upang sila ay maumpisahan nang mabakunahan (Despite being limited for now, we are reserving this for the senior citizens so we can immediately start administering the vaccine to them),” the city government announced on Facebook.
After inoculating medical front-liners, the city government said it sees the need to vaccinate the elderly immediately as it awaits more supplies of AstraZeneca.
The city government also has supplies of Sinovac jabs but the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) is not recommending this for the senior citizens.
Meanwhile, the QC government urged residents to preregister for the Covid-19 jabs to facilitate the vaccination rollout.
The local government said that there are two ways to register, through Online Self-Booking and through Assisted Booking in which the QCitizen ID Card is required.
With online self-booking, an individual may sign-up as a patient through the EZConsult website https://app.ezconsult.io/signup?userType=Patient.
The EZConsult application may also be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play.
“Hindi kinakailangan ang QCitizen ID para makapag-register sa EZConsult, ngunit kailangan ng personal email at mobile number para sa registration (QCitizen ID is not needed in order to register with EZConsult, however, personal email and mobile number should be provided for the registration),” the announcement reads.
After signing up, the account will be reviewed to check if the person is eligible to be included in the Department of Health (DOH) prioritization list.
A person may only ask for a schedule if they are part of the priority group currently being vaccinated.
Meanwhile, those who will register through the Assisted Booking modality should wait for a call or a text message from their respective barangays for their Covid-19 vaccination schedule, which will be based on the vaccination priority listing of the DOH.
The city is currently under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) as with the other cities in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus bubble, and as such, QCitizen ID registration sites are closed.
Those who wish to register for the QCitizen ID may register online through https://qceservices.quezoncity.gov.ph.
