Quezon City Covid patients post 97.5% recovery rate

Quezon City, the biggest city in the National Capital Regions in terms of population, has 97.5 percent of its Covid-19 patients already recovered, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.

As of 8 a.m. on Tuesday, the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CESU) recorded 102,254 who have recuperated out of the total 104,852 infected since March last year.

To date, only 1,392 remained as active cases in the city which has an approximately 2.9 million residents.

These numbers are constantly changing though as community-based testing continues.

Barangay Batasan Hills in District 2 has the most active cases at 67, followed by Pasong Tamo in District 5 with 55, Socorro in District 3 with 51, and Commonwealth and Holy Spirit also in District 2 with 50 and 41 cases, respectively.

As of Monday, the city government reported a 26.91 percent occupancy rate in its 10 HOPE quarantine facilities.

The city’s “ProtekTODO” vaccination drive has already administered 1,178,621 doses, with 475,267 or 27.96 percent of the total as second dose.

As of Tuesday, 41.37 percent or 703,354 out of the target 1.7 million are already vaccinated.
