Quezon City Declared National Hub Against Online Child Exploitation
Mayor Joy Belmonte officially designated Quezon City as the primary Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) hub in the Philippines. This proclamation took place during the Anti-OSAEC conference hosted at Novotel Manila in Cubao.
The event, graced by notable figures including Norwegian Embassy - Manila Ambassador His Excellency Christian Halaas Lyster, Mission Alliance General Secretary Heidi Hegertun, Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, Councilor Ally Medalla, and Councilor Joseph Juico, focused on the collaborative efforts between national, international, and non-government organizations in eradicating OSAEC.
The conference featured comprehensive plenary sessions addressing the diverse approaches various sectors employ to combat child abuse and exploitation. The discussions aimed to elevate public awareness about OSAEC and underscored the significance of unified efforts among organizations to safeguard and protect children.
The primary objective of the conference was to enhance societal understanding of OSAEC and highlight the critical role played by coordinated partnerships in safeguarding the well-being of children.
